THE HEALING POWER OF NATURE

INTEGRATIVE NUTRITIONAL THERAPY

NUTRITIONAL THERAPY is an evidence-based, individualised practice using WHOLE FOOD AS MEDICINE to support the healing process of certain conditions or maintain overall wellness.

Food is fuel and information for our body. It can either make us thrive or make us sick. One of the simplest and most sustainable steps toward a healthier lifestyle is to include more whole foods in your diet.

Say goodbye to restrictive diets and welcome a more balanced approach to eating. Eating whole, real food means consuming foods that are minimally processed and as close to their natural state as possible. This includes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, lean proteins, and healthy fats. These foods are rich in essential nutrients, vitamins, minerals, and fibers that are vital for your health. It can be tailored to your personal taste & requirements, and the season of the year. In case of nutrient deficiencies, supplementation can be an option.

We need to nourish not only our body, but also our mind and soul. INTEGRATIVE therapy combines the evidence-based approach of Western medicine with holistic medicine (treating the whole person) practices to create personalized treatment plans.

FOOD AS MEDICINE

Traditional medicine, along with growing scientific evidence is showing what we knew long ago: healing starts with food

Food acts as a FOUNDATION MEDICINE.

It is sometimes slower to take effect compared to herbs or other medicines, but it more profoundly affects all systems of the body.  If nutrition is used correctly for prevention and treatment, other medicines are required less, if at all.

SLOW DOWN

You can have the healthiest meal on earth, but if you eat it in an anxious state, your absorption of nutrients will be dramatically diminished. The good news is that it actually takes less than a minute to destress the body. Just take a few DEEP BREATHS, smile, use your senses, have some nourishing thoughts and feel grateful for the food on your table. Nature created a palette of colors, a selection of scents, and an extraordinary array of flavors for you to engage with. See beauty in every biteTry and feel the difference :-)

FOOD FOR THE FUTURE

Mindfulness also helps us look beyond the packaging to see how and where food is grown, so that we can eat in a way that preserves our collective well-being and the health of our planet.

And ensuring our children and grandchildren have access to safe, healthy and preferably local fresh food that has been produced in a sustainable manner.

FOOD AS A WAY TO CONNECT

'We should look for someone to eat and drink with before looking for something to eat and drink' - Epicurus

Food is not only a basic need and a medicine, it is also pleasure and a way to connect. You may have sweet childhood memories of eating your favourite food. Or remember the last time you were invited for a freshly cooked meal and a good talk with friends. Sharing food is an act of loving care, engagement and appreciation. It is a cornerstone of social interaction in many cultures.

SAVOR THE SEASON & BUY LOCAL

A visit to the farmers market is always a treat, but especially after winter when there is more variety and fresh greens again. I prefer to buy organic whenever possible as to avoid the pesticides. I also find these products taste better and are evidence that the farmer is respectful of the land and how food is meant to be grown.
Locally grown means the carbon footprint for transporting and storing products is reduced so you can feel good about that too. This also means you are buying fresher produce that helps support our local economy
